Spider veins are actually a type of varicose vein, named because of their web-like appearance. They are small, dilated blood vessels that appear as red, purple and/or blue on the surface of the skin.
Easy to spot, these tiny veins usually cluster together and are found predominantly on the upper thigh, around the knee or along the ankles. Medically referred to as telangiectasias, spider veins range in size between 0.5 and 1 millimeter.
Our vein clinic offers several different spider vein treatments. To determine which procedure is best for you or if your spider veins are an indication of a more serious vein condition, contact our medical team
for a complimentary diagnostic ultrasound.
